Anti-SMS2 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the SMS2 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the SGMS2 gene, which encodes sphingomyelin synthase 2. This protein is known to function in protein phosphorylation and the metabolism of lipids, among other biological roles. The human version of SMS2 has a canonical amino acid length of 365 residues and a protein mass of 42.3 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the Golgi and cell membrane of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. SMS2 is a member of the Sphingomyelin synthase protein family. Indicated applications for SMS2 antibodies listed below include ELISA and Western Blot.
