Anti-TRAM antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target TRAM is a known alias name of the protein translocation associated membrane protein 1, encoded by the TRAM1 gene in humans. This 374-amino acid residue protein is reported to be involved in translocation of nascent protein chains into or through the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane by facilitating the proper chain positioning at the SEC61 channel. It is localized to the ER of the cell and features N-glycosylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be expressed in many tissues, such as the cervix and colon.
