Anti-MCKD2 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target MCKD2 is a known alias name of the protein uromodulin, encoded by the UMOD gene in humans. This 640-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in the apoptotic pathway and autophagy pathways, among other biological processes. It is localized to the cell membrane of the cell and features N-glycosylated and cleaved post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in the tubular cells of the kidney. Other synonyms for MCKD2 include ADMCKD2, ADTKD1, and FJHN. Western Blot is the most common application for the MCKD2 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
