Anti-ISM1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein isthmin 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 464 amino acid residues and a mass of 52.1 kDa. It has been described to be a secreted protein. A member of the Isthmin protein family, ISM1 is known to act as a angiogenesis inhibitor. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. The ISM1 marker can be used to identify Gray Matter Chandelier Neurons and Dorsal Excitatory Neurons.* Synonyms for this target antigen include isthmin 1 homolog and isthmin 1, angiogenesis inhibitor. ISM1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is the most common application for the ISM1 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
