Anti-NCBE antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target NCBE is a known alias name of the protein solute carrier family 4 member 10, encoded by the SLC4A10 gene in humans. This 1118-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a sodium/bicarbonate cotransporter, which plays an important role in regulating intracellular pH. It is localized to the cell membrane of the cell and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be highly expressed in the the brain.
