Anti-MASP-2 antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The MASP-2 antigen is another term for the human protein MBL associated serine protease 2, encoded by the MASP2 gene. The protein is reported to be a serum protease that plays an important role in the activation of the complement system via mannose-binding lectin. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 686 residues and a mass of 75.7 kilodaltons. It is a secreted protein and it is notably expressed in plasma. The MASP-2 protein is a member of the Peptidase S1 protein family. Other alias names for MASP-2 include MAP-2, MAP19, and MASP1P1. Indicated applications for MASP-2 antibodies listed below include ELISA, Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry, and Immunohistochemistry.
