Anti-EPPK1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein epiplakin 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 5088 amino acid residues and a mass of 555.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane and cytoplasm. It is reported to be expressed in epithelial cells of liver, small intestine, colon, salivary glands, stomach and appendix. A member of the Plakin or cytolinker protein family, EPPK1 is known to be involved with the regulation of cell migration. Synonyms for this target antigen include 450 kDa epidermal antigen, epidermal autoantigen 450K, and epiplakin. EPPK1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some Eppk1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. ELISA is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunocytochemistry is also a common application.
