Anti-CRN antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the CRN antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the CORIN gene, which encodes corin, serine peptidase. This protein is known to be a serine-type endopeptidase involved in atrial natriuretic peptide (NPPA) and brain natriuretic peptide (NPPB) processing. The human version of CRN has a canonical amino acid length of 1042 residues and a protein mass of 116.5 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane of cells. CRN is a member of the Peptidase S1 protein family.
