Anti-cystinosin antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target cystinosin is a known alias name of the protein cystinosin, lysosomal cystine transporter, encoded by the CTNS gene in humans. This 367-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a Cystine/H(+) symporter that mediates export of cystine, the oxidized dimer of cysteine, from lysosomes. It is localized to the lysosomes and cell membrane of the cell and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be highly expressed in the pancreas, kidney (adult and fetal), skeletal muscle, melanocytes and keratinocytes. Other synonyms for cystinosin include CTNS-LSB, PQLC4, and SLC66A4. Indicated applications for cystinosin antibodies listed below include ELISA, Western Blot, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry.
