Anti-endobrevin antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the endobrevin antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the VAMP8 gene, which encodes vesicle associated membrane protein 8. This protein is known to function in viral immune response and protein transport, among other biological roles. The human version of endobrevin has a canonical amino acid length of 100 residues and a protein mass of 11.4 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the lysosomes and cell membrane of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. endobrevin is a member of the Synaptobrevin protein family.
