Anti-CCDC3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein coiled-coil domain containing 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 270 amino acid residues and a mass of 30.7 kDa. It has been described to be a secreted protein. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC), and at lower levels in aortic smooth muscle cells (HASMC). CCDC3 is known to be involved with the regulation of gene expression and the metabolism of lipids. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include fat/vessel-derived secretory protein, favine, and coiled-coil domain-containing protein 3. CCDC3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is the most common application for the CCDC3 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
