Anti-BCOX antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the BCOX antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the ACOX2 gene, which encodes acyl-CoA oxidase 2. This protein is known to function in the metabolism of lipids and the response to oxidative stress, among other biological roles. The human version of BCOX has a canonical amino acid length of 681 residues and a protein mass of 76.8 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the peroxisomes of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the kidney and liver. BCOX is a member of the Acyl-CoA oxidase protein family.
