Anti-CK13 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the CK13 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the KRT13 gene, which encodes keratin 13. This protein is known to function in cytoskeleton organization and epithelial cell differentiation, among other biological roles. The human version of CK13 has a canonical amino acid length of 458 residues and a protein mass of 49.6 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be notably expressed in the tonsil, skin, oral mucosa, esophagus, and cervix. This target antigen may also be known as K13. Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry are common applications for CK13 antibodies.
