Anti-AHNAK antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein AHNAK nucleoprotein. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 5890 amino acid residues and a mass of 629.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. AHNAK is believed to be required for neuronal cell differentiation. Synonyms for this target antigen include AHNAK-related, desmoyokin, and neuroblast differentiation-associated protein AHNAK. AHNAK gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of AHNAK antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are common applications for these antibodies.
