Anti-TEX4 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the TEX4 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the TIMM22 gene, which encodes translocase of inner mitochondrial membrane 22. This protein is known to be an important core component of the TIM22 complex, a complex that mediates the import and insertion of multi-pass transmembrane proteins into the mitochondrial inner membrane. The human version of TEX4 has a canonical amino acid length of 194 residues and a protein mass of 20 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the mitochondria of cells. Other names for this target antigen include COXPD43 and TIM22.
