Anti-Carbonic anhydrase 9 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene CA9 in humans. The gene may also be known as CAIX, Carbonic Anhydrase IX, MN, CA-IX, and P54/58N. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 49.7 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, fly, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
