Anti-L-SIGN antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target L-SIGN is a known alias name of the protein C-type lectin domain family 4 member M, encoded by the CLEC4M gene in humans. This 399-amino acid residue protein is a suspected pathogen-recognition receptor involved in peripheral immune surveillance in liver. It is localized to the cell membrane and is secreted of the cell and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be expressed in the testis, colon, and cerebral cortex.
