Anti-Parkin antibodies detect the protein encoded by the gene PRKN, or 'parkin RBR E3 ubiquitin protein ligase' in humans. The 465-amino acid protein is a member of the RBR family, Parkin subfamily and the Parkin antigen is a documented neurodegenerative marker. The cellular localization is predicted to be cytoplasmic and mitochondrial.
