Anti-Nmyc antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target Nmyc is a known alias name of the protein MYCN proto-oncogene, bHLH transcription factor, encoded by the MYCN gene in humans. This 464-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in astrocyte differentiation and lung development, among other biological processes. It is localized to the nucleus of the cell and features phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in the neuronal cells of the cerebrum, neuroblastomas and thyroid tumors. Other synonyms for Nmyc include MODED, MYCNsORF, and MYCNsPEP. Western Blot is a widely used application for the Nmyc antibodies listed below. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
