Anti-MPD6 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the MPD6 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the ACTN2 gene, which encodes actinin alpha 2. This protein is known to function in cytoskeleton organization and cell adhesion, among other biological roles. The human version of MPD6 has a canonical amino acid length of 894 residues and a protein mass of 103.9 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in the testis, skeletal muscle, heart muscle, cerebral cortex, and caudate. MPD6 is a member of the Alpha-actinin protein family.
