Anti-KAZN antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein kazrin, periplakin interacting protein. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 775 amino acid residues and a mass of 86.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Up to 5 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the Kazrin protein family, KAZN is a known component of the cornified envelope of keratinocytes. Synonyms for this target antigen include KAZ, kazrin, and C1orf196. KAZN gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some KAZN antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunofluorescence are also common applications.
