Anti-PSMA1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein proteasome 20S subunit alpha 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 263 amino acid residues and a mass of 29.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the Peptidase T1A protein family, PSMA1 is a known component of the 20S core proteasome complex involved in the proteolytic degradation of most intracellular proteins. Synonyms for this target antigen include HEL-S-275, NU, PROS30, proteasome subunit alpha type-1, 30 kDa prosomal protein, and HC2. PSMA1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of PSMA1 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
