Anti-Aqpep antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Aqpep antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the LVRN gene, which encodes laeverin. This protein is known to function in proteolysis, among other biological roles. The human version of Aqpep has a canonical amino acid length of 990 residues and a protein mass of 113.3 kilodaltons, although 4 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the membrane of cells and notably expressed in the placenta. Aqpep is a member of the Peptidase M1 protein family.
