Anti-IPP1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the IPP1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the IDI1 gene, which encodes isopentenyl-diphosphate delta isomerase 1. This protein is known to function in cholesterol metabolism and homeostasis, among other biological roles. The human version of IPP1 has a canonical amino acid length of 227 residues and a protein mass of 26.3 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the peroxisomes of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. IPP1 is a member of the IPP isomerase type 1 protein family.
