Anti-HPT antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target HPT is a known alias name of the protein magnesium transporter MRS2, encoded by the MRS2 gene in humans. This 443-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a magnesium transporter that mediates the influx of magnesium into the mitochondrial matrix. It is localized to the mitochondria of the cell.
