Anti-Mcpt1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Mcpt1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the CPT1B gene, which encodes carnitine palmitoyltransferase 1B. This protein is known to function in fatty acid metabolism, among other biological roles. The human version of Mcpt1 has a canonical amino acid length of 772 residues and a protein mass of 87.8 kilodaltons, although 4 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the mitochondria of cells and notably expressed in the testis, skeletal muscle, parathyroid gland, kidney, and heart muscle. Other names for this target antigen include CPT1-M, CPT1M, and CPTI. A number of Mcpt1 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. These antibodies are most commonly used in ELISA experiments, among other applications.
