Anti-TAS2R50 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein taste 2 receptor member 50. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 299 amino acid residues and a mass of 34.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane. It is reported to be expressed in subsets of taste receptor cells of the tongue and exclusively in gustducin-positive cells. A member of the G-protein coupled receptor T2R protein family, TAS2R50 is a known receptor that may play a role in the perception of bitterness and is gustducin-linked. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation.
