Anti-metallothionein 1A antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the MT1A gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 61 amino acid residues and a mass of 6.1 kDa. The metallothionein 1A protein is a member of the Metallothionein protein superfamily. Other names for this target antigen include MT1, MT1S, MTC, metallothionein 1A (functional), metallothionein 1S, metallothionein-IA, and MT-IA.
