Anti-Eukaryotic translation elongation factor 2 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene EEF2 in humans. The gene may also be known as EF2, EEF-2, EF-2, SCA26, epididymis secretory sperm binding protein, and polypeptidyl-tRNA translocase. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 95.3 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, yeast, fly, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
