Anti-NKX3A antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target NKX3A is a known alias name of the protein NK3 homeobox 1, encoded by the NKX3-1 gene in humans. This 234-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a transcription factor, which binds preferentially the consensus sequence 5'-TAAGT[AG]-3' and can behave as a transcriptional repressor. It is localized to the nucleus of the cell and features ubiquitinated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be highly expressed in the prostate and, at a lower level, in the testis. Other synonyms for NKX3A include BAPX2, NKX3, and NKX3.1. Western Blot is the most common application for the NKX3A antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
