In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 319 amino acid residues and a mass of 36.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. A member of the G-protein coupled receptor 1 protein family, OR8K1 is known to be involved with GPCR signaling pathways and the sensory perception of smell.
