Anti-CARD16 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein caspase recruitment domain family member 16. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 197 amino acid residues and a mass of 22.6 kDa. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is widely expressed across many tissue types. CARD16 is known to be involved with the cellular response to hypoxia and the cellular response to lipopolysaccharides.
The CARD16 marker can be used to identify Naive Regulatory T Cells.* Synonyms for this target antigen include CARD only domain-containing protein 1, CARD only protein, CARD-only protein 1, caspase recruitment domain-only protein 1, and caspase recruitment domain-containing protein 16. CARD16 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse and rat species. Some CARD16 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
