Anti-paraoxonase 3 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the PON3 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 354 amino acid residues and a mass of 39.6 kDa. It is known to be a secreted protein. A member of the Paraoxonase protein family, it is known to have low activity towards the organophosphate paraxon and aromatic carboxylic acid esters. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Other names for this target antigen include arylesterase 3, paraoxanase-3, and serum paraoxonase/lactonase 3. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species. Some paraoxonase 3 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
