Anti-NPM2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein nucleophosmin/nucleoplasmin 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 214 amino acid residues and a mass of 24.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in many tissues, such as the adrenal gland and bronchus. A member of the Nucleoplasmin protein family, NPM2 is known to be involved with chromatin remodeling and DNA replication. Synonyms for this target antigen include nucleoplasmin-2. NPM2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some NPM2 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunocytochemistry are also common applications.
