Anti-TIM50 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the TIM50 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the TIMM50 gene, which encodes translocase of inner mitochondrial membrane 50. This protein is known to function in intracellular protein transport and protein dephosphorylation, among other biological roles. The human version of TIM50 has a canonical amino acid length of 353 residues and a protein mass of 39.6 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus and mitochondria of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. TIM50 is a member of the TIM50 protein family. ELISA and Western Blot are common applications for TIM50 antibodies.
