Anti-MZT1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein mitotic spindle organizing protein 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 82 amino acid residues and a mass of 8.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the MOZART1 protein family, Mzt1 is known to be required for gamma-tubulin complex recruitment to the centrosome. Synonyms for this target antigen include mitotic-spindle organizing protein associated with a ring of gamma-tubulin 1. MZT1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. These Mzt1 antibodies are widely used in Immunohistochemistry experiments, among other applications.
