Anti-MTX antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the MTX antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the MTX1 gene, which encodes metaxin 1. This protein is known to be involved in transport of proteins into the mitochondrion. The human version of MTX has a canonical amino acid length of 466 residues and a protein mass of 51.5 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the mitochondria and membrane of cells. This target antigen may also be known as MTXN. Indicated applications for MTX antibodies listed below include ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry.
