Anti-HUMARA antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target HUMARA is a known alias name of the protein androgen receptor, encoded by the AR gene in humans. This 920-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in cell to cell signaling and in utero embryonic development, among other biological processes. It is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm of the cell and features ubiquitinated, sumoylated, palmitoylated and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be expressed in the kidney, fallopian tube, epididymis, endometrium, and breast. Other synonyms for HUMARA include AIS, AR8, and DHTR. A number of HUMARA antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
