Anti-HGL antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the HGL antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the LLGL2 gene, which encodes LLGL scribble cell polarity complex component 2. This protein is known to function in cell division and cytoskeleton organization, among other biological roles. The human version of HGL has a canonical amino acid length of 1020 residues and a protein mass of 113.4 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasm of cells. HGL is a member of the WD repeat L(2)GL protein family.
