Anti-Gpi1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Gpi1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the PIGQ gene, which encodes phosphatidylinositol glycan anchor biosynthesis class Q. This protein is known to function in carbohydrate metabolism and homeostasis, among other biological roles. The human version of Gpi1 has a canonical amino acid length of 760 residues and a protein mass of 84.1 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the membrane of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include DEE77 and EIEE77. Some Gpi1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunofluorescence are also common applications.
