Anti-CELA2A antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein chymotrypsin like elastase 2A. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 269 amino acid residues and a mass of 28.9 kDa. It has been described to be a secreted protein. It is notably expressed in the pancreas. A member of the Peptidase S1 protein family, CELA2A is a reported elastase that enhances insulin signaling and might have a physiologic role in cellular glucose metabolism. The CELA2A gene has been associated with the disease, Abdominal obesity-metabolic syndrome. Synonyms for this target antigen include chymotrypsin like elastase family member 2A, elastase 2A, pancreatic elastase 2, pancreatic elastase IIA, and chymotrypsin-like elastase family member 2A. CELA2A gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat and chicken species. Western Blot is a widely used application for the CELA2A antibodies listed below. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
