Anti-ASB18 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein ankyrin repeat and SOCS box containing 18. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 466 amino acid residues and a mass of 50.8 kDa. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the Ankyrin SOCS box (ASB) protein family, ASB18 is believed to be a substrate-recognition component of a SCF-like ECS (Elongin-Cullin-SOCS-box protein) E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex which mediates the ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of target proteins. Synonyms for this target antigen include ankyrin repeat and SOCS box protein 18. ASB18 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Indicated applications for ASB18 antibodies listed below include Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.
