Anti-TrkB antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the TrkB antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the NTRK2 gene, which encodes neurotrophic receptor tyrosine kinase 2. This protein is known to function in nervous system development, among other biological roles. The human version of TrkB has a canonical amino acid length of 822 residues and a protein mass of 92 kilodaltons, although 7 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane and cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in the hippocampus, cerebral cortex, and caudate. Other names for this target antigen include DEE58, EIEE58, and GP145-TrkB. Western Blot is the most common application for the TrkB antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
