Anti-Cytokeratin 8 antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The Cytokeratin 8 antigen is another term for the human protein keratin 8, encoded by the KRT8 gene. The protein is known to function in the apoptotic pathway, among other biological roles. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 483 residues and a mass of 53.7 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm and it is widely expressed in many tissue types. The Cytokeratin 8 protein is a member of the Intermediate filament protein family. Other alias names for Cytokeratin 8 include CARD2, CK-8, and CK8. Some Cytokeratin 8 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. ELISA, Western Blot, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are common applications for these antibodies.
