Anti-NMT1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein N-myristoyltransferase 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 496 amino acid residues and a mass of 56.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane and cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the NMT protein family, NMT1 is known to be involved with in utero embryonic development. Synonyms for this target antigen include NMT, glycylpeptide N-tetradecanoyltransferase 1, alternative, short form NMT-S, long form, NMT-L, and HsNMT1. NMT1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of NMT1 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
