Anti-LIM homeobox 6 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the LHX6 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 363 amino acid residues and a mass of 40 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 6 different isoforms for this protein. It is a suspected transcription factor required for the expression of a subset of genes involved in interneurons migration and development. Other names for this target antigen include hLHX6, LIM/homeobox protein Lhx6, LIM homeodomain protein 6.1, LIM/homeobox protein Lhx6.1, and LHX6.1.
