Anti-Keratin 79 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the KRT79 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 535 amino acid residues and a mass of 57.8 kDa. It is reported to be expressed in skeletal muscle, skin and scalp, but not in any other tissues or organs examined. It is a member of the Intermediate filament protein family. Other names for this target antigen include CK-79, K79, cytokeratin-79, keratin 6L, keratin 79, type II, and keratin, type II cytoskeletal 79. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species. Western Blot is the most common application for the Keratin 79 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
