Anti-Syntaxin 5 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the STX5 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 355 amino acid residues and a mass of 39.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the ER and golgi. A member of the Syntaxin protein family, it is known to mediate endoplasmic reticulum to Golgi transport. Other names for this target antigen include STX5A, syntaxin 5A, and SED5.
