Anti-SLC22A11 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein solute carrier family 22 member 11. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 550 amino acid residues and a mass of 60 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in the placental trophoblasts, syncytiotrophoblast and cytotrophoblast. A member of the Organic cation transporter (TC 2.A.1.19) protein family, SLC22A11 is a reported antiporter that mediates the transport of conjugated steroids and other specific organic anions at the basal membrane of syncytiotrophoblast and at the apical membrane of proximal tubule epithelial cells, in exchange for anionic compounds. Synonyms for this target antigen include organic anion:dicarboxylate exchanger OAT4, solute carrier family 22 (organic anion/cation transporter), member 11, solute carrier family 22 (organic anion/urate transporter), member 11, and organic anion transporter 4. Some SLC22A11 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. Immunocytochemistry and Immunofluorescence are also common applications.
