Anti-RBPJ antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein recombination signal binding protein for immunoglobulin kappa J region. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 500 amino acid residues and a mass of 55.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Up to 7 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the Su(H) protein family, RBPJ is a reported transcriptional regulator that plays a central role in Notch signaling, a signaling pathway involved in cell-cell communication that regulates a broad spectrum of cell-fate determinations. The RBPJ gene has been associated with the disease, Adams-Oliver syndrome. Synonyms for this target antigen include CBF-1, CBF1, IGKJRB, IGKJRB1, KBF2, RBP-J kappa, RBP-JK, and AOS3. RBPJ gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
